This song is meant as a sort of public broadcast. An announcement warning about 'The Man' and the enslavement to a fraudulent economic system. 'The man' is both a representation of the establishment but also those who stand above you as an oppressive force.
The song is a call to free yourself from the illusion of establishment and the enslavement to a corrupt financial system and an oppressive political system.
'The Man' was written during the Occupy movement of 2011 which in the Uk took centre stage on the steps of St Paul's cathedral in London. Icca's Belle performed a fully plugged in show on the steps of the Cathedral.
The band's drummer Rod says 'On a personal level i cant help feel the injustice imposed on the members of Pussy Riot who for doing a similar but slightly more radical stunt currently sit in prison. While i sit in a comfortable space writing this...'

WTF? How was this not in my Bandcamp collection. I must've bought it from a different account before! Anyway, I've been listening to this since before it was released and a decade on it's still a spectacularly perfect collection of songs. Sounds like a greatest hits album. Literally any track could be chosen as my 'favourite'. Truly astonishing. Steve Lawson
